Water is fed to an inward flow reaction turbine, running at 180 rpm with a velocity of flow of 3 m/s. The diameter and width of the wheel at inlet are 1 m and 135 mm, respectively. Assuming the velocity of flow to be constant and radial discharge at inlet and outlet, find,
(a) work done per kN of water,
(b) power developed by the turbine,
(c) head of water on the turbine, and
(d) hydraulic efficiency of the turbine.
Also, draw velocity triangles showing all details.
